8 Holy Grail Must Have Beauty Products Worth Every Penny

Like all beauty lovers, I am always in search of a Holy Grail product. These products should be like your ideal boyfriend. It’s everything you want it to be and has no bad qualities. It gives you everything you need and want. You can’t imagine your life without it. It rubs your feet and tells you you’re pretty. Oh wait, are we talking about boyfriends or beauty products? Oh, and it actually exists. Nate, if you’re reading this you are my holy grail boyfriend and I love you. #shamelessplug

These HG products are not to be confused with your past “bad boy” boyfriend. They might start out great, or maybe you’re unsure about them. You don’t just “love” them for the moment. You might reach for your “bad boy” when you’re bored. Bad boys can be easily replaced, HG’s cannot. Bad boys, see ya! Leave em in the dust, better yet, the garbage. When you find a HG beauty product, you’ll know he’s the one. 😉

Here are my top 8 Holy Grail Beauty Products!

Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Hydrating Foundation

This foundation is extra special to me because it was the first ever name brand foundation I purchased. Honestly, should have been the only one I ever purchased. This foundation literally has it all. It’s full coverage, while not feeling caky, it lasts through an 8 hour school/work day + happy hour with NO touch ups, and its hydrating enough for all skin types. What more do you want? I recently have been trying newer foundations, but I always end up coming back to this beauty.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Concealer

I hung up my MAC concealer for this product as soon as it came out, and I didn’t miss my old one, one bit. This product gave me what my other one was lacking and that was hydratedness. Is that even a word? Autocorrect is telling me no, but my hearts telling me yes so i’m gonna roll with it. Truth is, I haven’t tried anything else since purchasing this one. You don’t want to know how many little tubes of these i’ve been through. It covers my dark circles, is hydrating, and there are enough colors so you can choose something a little lighter than your foundation if you’re into that Kim K highlighted look.

MAC Powder Blush “Melba”

This blush has stolen my heart and I never want it back. It’s the perfect peachy pink that looks gorgeous every day of the year, no matter the season. I’m someone who has been through many skin tones in my lifetime (LOL). I used to tan, A LOT. Usually, you can’t always wear the same tone of blush when your pale vs. tan, but this one always looks pretty if you’re looking for a natural pop of color. It also has great staying power and never feel like I need to reapply.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

I think I have tried just about every eye primer and nothing has ever come close to this formula. My eyeshadow NEVER creases when wearing this product. I can sleep for 12 hours, wake up, and my eyes will still look flawless. It’s amazing. I’ve also noticed how much better eyeshadow colors show up on my eyelids as well. If you aren’t happy with your eyeshadow and aren’t using a primer, get one. It’s life changing.

Maybelline Gel Liner

Don’t be surprised that I included a drugstore product in my HG’s. Just because something is expensive doesn’t mean it’s a good product. I love this gel liner because it’s so creamy, glides on so smoothly with a liner brush, AND is the blackest matte liner, ever. I’d be willing to bet money on it. Don’t waste your money on the big brands for this one. This is also Jaclyn Hill’s favorite eye liner, so if my word isn’t good enough for you, hers should be.

Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Clay Cleanser

Part one of my HG dynamic duo and honestly a little ballsy of me for including this. I’ve been using this cleanser for about 6 months now, but it’s hard to imagine what my life and skin was like before it. This cleanser get so deep into your pores and cleans them out, while shrinking them at the same time. It also sucks all of the oil right out of your face, which has made me dry, but I don’t experience breakouts near like I used to. It took a couple months for me to notice my pores shrinking, but it definitely happened. My skin has also improved in texture and is so soft + smooth! I have no intentions of trying anything new.

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Cream

Part two of my HG dynamic duo. If you have dry skin, or are using a cleanser for oily skin that makes your skin dry, you HAVE to try this moisturizer. It puts the perfect balance of moisture into my skin so I don’t feel greasy and I don’t still feel dry either. I put this on every morning before I do my makeup and every night before bed. It has helped keep my skin soft and I feel so much more comfortable not wearing makeup because of it.

Moral of the story:

Try new products, but invest in those HG ones for the long haul.
Also, invest in good boyfriends. Just 1 though.

What are some of your holy grail beauty products?

Chat soon gorgeous!

You have definitely linked to some great products here! I have been using that Clinique lotion for years. The Urban Decay eye shadow primer potion is an essential, in my opinion.

I have not tried Clinique in such a long time — like since I was a teenager when my mom introduced me to this product line. Your post has inspired me to consider them again!
