Back to School Essentials

A new school year is quickly approaching and with that comes new goodies to get you prepared! Back to school shopping has always been something I looked forward to, and I am a little sad that this is the last year I get to do that! Here are a few of the essential items I have to have for back to school!1. Pullover | Vineyard Vines | $98A basic pullover is a must! You would be surprised at how many times you utilize this piece of clothing. From Mondays when you just are feeling like getting ready to a casual study day, this pullover will get plenty of use! The pullover I linked is Vineyard Vines. I have had mine for 2 years now and it gets plenty of use! If you decide to purchase, I would recommend going a size up!2. Book Bag | Kate Spade | $298So the bag I listed isn’t a traditional back pack. I hate back packs! I just don’t think they are cute and they are bad for your posture when they are heavy! Seriously it’s true, research it. I love this Kate bag because it easily fits my laptop, textbooks, notebooks, and other odds and ends of things I like to have in my bag. The color I have isn’t being sold on the website anymore, but I am loving the new shades they added! The bag is pricey, but well worth it! It’s well made and mine is going on two years without a scratch on it!3. Water Bottle | Swell | $45
Because you need to stay hydrated! These water bottles are actually the coolest thing since sliced bread. These bottles keep cold drinks cold for 24 hours and hot drinks hot for 12 hours. That’s insane! No one likes warm water and definitely no one likes cold coffee! Plus, the bottle is sleek and S’well donates a portion of all sales to give clean drinking water to children around the world. Awwwww.
4. Agenda | Kate Spade | $38I have had a Kate agenda for 2 years now and I don’t plan on using anything else. It gives me plenty of room to write down my busy schedule everyday, and it’s the perfect size to throw in my bag. I also LOVE the Erin Condren planners because you can personalize them, but they are a little too bulky for me and mine fell apart so quickly. I choose Kate Spade because I like to match my brands (yeah I know that sounds snotty but i’m not i’m just weird). Basically if I’m carrying a Kate bag and my Kate tumbler….I have to have the matching planner…..Right?5. Gel Pens | Target | Paper Mate 8 Count Gel Pens | $1.50This might be a random must have to many of you reading, but to all of you organization freaks, I know you know what I’m thinking! I color code everything. Between teaching, my classes, and blogging, I need to have a system to keep myself organized, and having cute gel pens makes that process easy. 🙂 I use the same color of notebook, folder, pen, etc. per class! Also, I couldn’t believe these were only $1.50! 6. Shoes | Sperry Seacoast Canvas Sneaker | $60A new school year always meant new shoes for me. I’m in graduate school and I still continue the tradition for myself. Why? Because it’s important to have a good everyday shoe. The Sperry Canvas Sneaker are my favorite every day shoes. They are comfortable and go with just about any casual outfit!7. Headphones | Apple | $30I share an office with several other people, and while I personally love listening to music while I grade papers and study, some others don’t! Having headphones are a must. They are also nice to have when you are walking across campus from class to class, working out at the gym, or if you need to be quiet in your dorm room! What are some of your back to school essentials?– xo Rach
