I can’t believe it’s almost 2017! 2016 was an amazing year, so I have high hopes for what 2017 will bring. In 2017 I will graduate with my Master’s degree so it’s already going to be off to a good start! I have been working on my new years resolutions and can’t wait to share them with you all next week! I am trying to get away from the typical resolutions like saving money, loosing weight, etc. Not that there is anything wrong with those resolutions, I just want to take the time to really think about what I need to improve on.
I basically have zero plans for NYE and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I will be spending the day at a local winery drinking sangria with family and Nate and I will probably watch the ball drop at midnight then go to bed. We might sound boring, but that’s just what we like to do! Now that we are living in Chicago maybe next year we will go out and do something exciting. I am not someone who really likes to go out and party, so NYE is always a chill holiday for me. Besides, I am still exhausted from the holidays! Our families are so big it seemed like Christmas was never going to end. (Not complaining).
While I feel like sequins + sparkle are the go-to NYE looks, I wanted to go with a different trend for someone like me who may not go all out for the holiday. This outfit would be perfect for a fancy dinner + drinks date with friends. Or if you are really like me, you’ll wear it to order Chinese food and sit on the couch spilling crab rangoon sauce allover yourself watching the ball drop. I have done sequins in the past, but I was really feeling the metallic look this year. This skirt is the most gorgeous gold metallic shade. Kind of reminds me of champagne! Plus, it’s only $30 so why not? Pair it with a clean white blouse, simple accessories and you have a classic + chic NYE look. You can’t tell, but I am wearing a black pair of OTK boots with it!
I’d love to know, what are your NYE plans?
Chat soon, babes!
