Loose Summer Waves with the Kenra Grip Trio Collection
One of my favorite hairstyles is just a simple loose wave. Especially in the summer! Raise your hand if you’re a curly haired girl who can’t wear her hair straight in the summer *raises hands and feet*. I hate that I can’t straighten my locks in the summer, but these fun loose waves make up for it.
I recently got the opportunity to try the new Kenra Grip Trio collection. These are made to, you guessed it, give your hair better grip! They are made for volume, high hold, and lots of definition. Aka what every girl wants. I was super excited to try these because I’ve always loved Kenra products. I remember my mom used this brand on her hair when I was younger and I would sneak into her bathroom and use them whenever she was gone. Sorry mom! What’s a Jr. High girl to do when she’s in the middle of a major awkward stage?!
Here’s my step by step tutorial on how I’ve been styling my hair with the Kenra Grip trio collection!
Step 1: Take the Whip Grip Mousse and scrunch it into your hair after you shower. I love this mousse because it doesn’t leave my hair crunchy like other products can. It also feels so light and smells amazing! You want just enough to scrunch through your hair from roots to end.
Step 2 and 3: You’ll want to blow dry your hair, on low heat! Blow drying on high heat can make your hair frizzy and adds more damage. Since we are doing loose waves, I recommend using a 2″ barrel curling iron like the ones I’m using here! This has been my go-to for loose waves for forever. I can use it when my hair is really long or short and it always gives me a great look.
Step 4: After I’ve curled my hair I like to give it a little extra lift 😉 I use a teasing comb to lightly tease my hair at its roots all around. I usually stick to doing a couple of layers, unless I am going all out pageant girl for a date night or something. The higher the hair the closer to God right? My pageant coach used to tell me that all the time! After I tease my roots I like to spray a little bit of the Air Grip Spray on the teased part just to make sure it holds. The Air Grip Spray gives it awesome hold to where I don’t feel like my tease has fallen a few hours later.
Step 5: Lastly, I like to spray the High Grip Spray allover my hair after I have finger combed through my curls. I love this product because it gives it high hold, but is still flexible so my hair has voluminous movement. You know, like Blake Lively in the hair commercials! Goals.
Step 6: Viola! Now you have gorgeous summertime loose waves in just a few steps. With the Kenra Grip Trio Collection your hair will be looking fab + holding up all day, and night! The products range from $17-$19 so they are definitely affordable and can be found at Ulta. I’ve linked my products below, and if you want to learn more about Kenra products, click here!
