As a blogger I get sent a lot of products from brands hoping I will love the product and share it with my readers. Most of the time, products I test don’t ever make it to the blog! I mean why share something that I didn’t like? However, when I tested out the new luxury Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection Foundation, I loved it so much I couldn’t wait to share it with you all! It’s really hard for me to fall in love with a foundation, so when I say I LOVE one, you know it’s good!
Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection Foundation
The Path McGrath Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection Foundation is a luxurious long-wearing foundation that can be built up from sheer to medium coverage. It is meant for all skin types and has a wide shade range of 36 different colors. The foundation comes in a gorgeous glass bottle and has a pump (so much cleaner!) It retails for $68 at Sephora.
How’s the Application?
The foundation comes out like a serum. It is incredibly light and applies effortlessly to the skin! When I apply this I use about two pumps and that gives me medium coverage. I use a foundation brush to apply.

What is the Finish like?
I love the finish on this foundation because it is so light you feel like you’re wearing nothing at all. It instantly blurs all imperfections and gives you the most gorgeous luminous glow! It looks very natural. It covers up my redness and acne scarring beautifully, and did not break me out at all. It’s like a filter for your skin!
I do not consider this a matte foundation since I have such oily skin, so I do have to use a primer and powder over the product. Otherwise, my oil will come through pretty quickly. However, if you have dry skin you’ll love how much moisture this brings to your skin and you should not have to use many products with it.
I have had a lot of compliments from people asking me what makeup I used because my skin looked so fresh and bright!

What’s it Made With?
While this foundation is not a certified clean beauty product, it is free of parabens and contains little dimethicone (check out my post on ingredients you want to avoid) in the ingredients. Instead, it contains a diamond core powder which gives the skin a natural radiance and reduces skins imperfections. Hence, the higher price point! Higher quality ingredients = higher cost of product.
This product also has a Vita-Serum Complex that moisturizes and fights the appearance of wrinkles. AKA you can double up on your anti-aging routine by adding this product to your makeup routine!
Would I Repurchase?
I know this is a very high price tag for a foundation, but in my opinion it’s worth it. It’s very hard for my oily acne-prone skin to find foundations that agree with me and its often even harder to find something that not only agrees with my skin but also makes me look like I don’t have oily acne-prone skin.
If you have a Sephora near you I would recommend going in and asking for a sample. Test it out for a couple of days!
What do you think about luxury foundations?
