Clean + affordable. Two words you don’t often hear in the same sentence when talking about skincare. Which is why I’m really excited to share Maelove with you all today. Their products are clean, affordable and they work!
I’ve seen a little buzz at Maelove for about a year now but never really looked into it until their team recently reached out to me and offered to send me some products to try. I did my research before accepting and really liked what I saw.
Here’s a little background on Maelove. The brand was developed by a group of MIT grads who sought out to create an affordable skincare line that was both simple and effective. They believe that good skincare is a right, not a privilege. The brand looks at proven clinical research and works with dermatologists, chemists, plastic surgeons and medical researchers to create their formulas. All of their products are cruelty free, vegan, free of parabens, SLS, dyes and fragrance, and they are made in the USA! If you’ve been following me for a while, then you already know why I think it’s so important to use beauty products free of these harmful ingredients. In case you’re new here, here’s my post talking about ingredients to avoid in skincare products.
I stumbled upon several articles talking about Maelove’s fan favorite product, The Glow Maker Serum ($28), and how it was just as good if not better, than the beloved SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic Serum ($166) and other reputable Vitamin C packed brands like Ole Henriksen and Drunk Elephant. Reading these articles was enough for me to be intrigued enough to give it a try. If a $28 serum was really better than a $166 one then that would be some hot news.
I’ve spent two months trying out some of their most popular products. Here are my thoughts!
The Glow Maker Serum ($28)

Skin Type: All
Recommended Use: After cleanser and toner, before moisturizer. You can use morning and night. I just use mine at night.
Noteworthy Ingredients: Vitamin C, E, Ferulic Acid, Hyaluronic Acid
Purpose: Brightening, Smoothing, Hydrating
This is the most hyped product from the entire Maelove line, so obviously it was at the top of my list of products to try. This serum has sold out 3 times and has over 8,000+ reviews. That’s pretty incredible and telling if you ask me!
I noticed a difference in my skin immediately with this product. I love how it immediately absorbs into my skin and doesn’t have a harsh smell. I prefer to use mine just at night, and when I wake up in the morning, no kidding, my skin is actually glowing and is nice and plump! Not something I am used to, especially during these winter months. It hasn’t bothered my sensitive skin one bit.
If you had to choose one product from the line to try, let it be this one! You won’t regret it.
NIA 10 Calming Serum ($28)

Skin Type: Sensitive, Acne Prone, Rosacea
Recommended Use: At night after cleanser, but before Glow Maker
Noteworthy Ingredients: Niacinamide (Vit B3), Zinc and White Tea extract
Purpose: Reduces Pores, Calms Redness
I absolutely love this serum especially for when I am having a bad breakout. My breakouts tend to get really red and this serum has helped calm that redness so much. I also love that is has anti-aging properties so I know it’s good for my skin for the long run. If you have any type of redness, this is something you’ll want to try!
Love 31 Face Oil ($75)

Skin Type: All
Recommended Use: Either morning after moisturizer but before makeup, and/or at night after moisturizer.
Noteworthy Ingredients: 31 botanical extracts and vitamins including Vitis Vinifera, Cannabis Sativa, Jojoba, Rose, Argan, Hazelnut and Baobab
Purpose: Nourish, Hydrate, Repair, and Protect
I know, I know. I spent this post talking about how affordable this brand is and then I end with a $75 face oil. I GET IT. That’s frustrating, but hear me out.
Face oils terrify me. I have oily acne prone skin. Like I’m good in the oil department, but this oil feels like pure LUXURY on my skin and the smell makes me feel like I am at an expensive spa. They re-made this formula 90 times in order to get it right and includes 31 different botanical extracts to nourish, hydrate, repair and protect your skin.
This is the most moisturizing oil I’ve tried that hasn’t given me oil overload. My favorite way to use this is before I apply my makeup. It absorbs into my skin like you would not believe! It also makes my makeup glide on so flawlessly and controls my oil throughout the day, so I look like a sun kissed goddess and not like I’ve rubbed crisco allover my face. I would buy this over and over again, it’s that good.
Maelove always has free shipping + returns on all orders, so you can always try it without risk! Right now they are doing a promo where if you buy 2 products you can save 10% and 3+ products you can save 20% with code: TEN
Please let me know if you try out this brand! I would love to know your thoughts.
