Long time, no see friends! Well not really. I know I haven’t been super active the past week or so but that’s because we have been so busy. Between families visiting, working, and summer activities I haven’t had much time for blogging. I feel so behind on life, I mean our fridge was literally empty until just a couple of days ago, but I’m starting to get caught up! It’s amazing at how quickly you get behind when you slack off for a couple of days.
Today I wanted to share my summer wish list with you guys. It still doesn’t feel like summer in Chicago, and to be honest I stopped wishing for warm weather. *dramatic* but it’s just so disappointing! However, here I am, creating wish lists of clothes I will probably never get to wear. I’m not going to get into the nitty gritty of each item, but I do want to just casually chat about the jist of it all!
You guys know what a fan of basics I am. Being a girl on a budget + a lover for versatile pieces I pretty much won’t buy anything unless I can style it at least 3 different ways. Purchase with purpose, ladies! For example, the Free People sweater is $108. That’s a good chunk of change for a sweater. However, it’s good quality, it can be worn in multiple seasons with shorts or jeans for multiples occasions. Need a sweater for a beach day? work sweater? weekend sweater? This fits the bill for all of the above. When you think about how much wear you can get out a piece you start to realize that $108 for that sweater isn’t too bad. Try to have that mindset when you’re shopping! I have this down to a science because I’m marrying a guy who works in finance and makes budgets for fun. He is obviously very money conscious, so when he sees a $100+ sweater purchase on the credit card bill he never gets mad, but he wants to know why I needed to spend so much on it. With all of that being said, I don’t make purchases like that very often. I know, why am I worrying about a $100 sweater when I have a pair of Gucci sunglasses on my wish list. It’s a wish list for a reason! Gucci sunglasses are an unrealistic wish for me, but I still wanted to include them because I love this style so much!
I also wanted to point out that I have an Erin Condren LifePlanner on my summer wish list this year. I know it’s not fashion related, but part of me feels like planners are an accessory so I wanted to include it! I’ve been using a little planner from Target for a while, but it just isn’t big enough for me since I like to use one planner for almost everything. Blog, personal, meal plan, and wedding! I use my phone for anything work related. I’m really excited to get it because I feel like it’s going to make me so much more organized and productive!
What’s on your summer wish list?
