Hey friends! Happy Tuesday! I’m so excited to be back today with another skincare post. I feel like it’s been a while! You guys loved my last “worth the hype” post with Sunday Riley, so I definitely want to keep them coming. Today we are chatting about the most recent hyped up skincare line, Tula!
If you follow several bloggers, chances are you’ve seen at least one of them raving about Tula on more than one occasion. I follow a ton of other bloggers and I feel like 70% of them have been doing sponsored posts with them and EVERY SINGLE PERSON is obsessed, which is odd. How can one skincare line appeal to so many people? Were they paid to rave about the product or did they truly love it? Since I was running low on my last cleanser, I figured I would see what all the hype is about and try it for myself. You guys know I’ve been battling with acne prone skin and scarring for a few years now, and haven’t really found a skincare system that has worked for me so I figured if I didn’t love it, I would just throw it in the pile of other products that haven’t worked for me.
Going into this I knew that Tula products were made with extremely healthy ingredients + were great for hydration. I never heard anyone comment on how it helped with acne so I didn’t have high hopes for that. If anything, I thought these products would help balance my skin and make it less oily. However, they claim their products are for all skin types.
About Tula and Probiotics 101
What makes Tula different from other skincare companies is that all of their products are probiotic based, meaning that their products are made with good bacteria that is naturally found in our bodies. Apparently, the probiotics we take to calm our stomachs are also good for our skin! Probiotics promote balanced skin and lock in moisture for hydrated and less inflamed skin. They also target anti-aging!
In addition to probiotics, Tula products are also made with blueberries, turmeric, AHA’s, retinol (Vitamin A), and Vitamin C. They are also 100% free from phthalates, parabens, propylene glycol, petrolatum, gluten, and mineral oil. They are also cruelty free. Remember the post I did a while back on ingredients that aren’t good for your skin (see here)? This line of skincare is literally as clean as it can get. It checks off all my boxes in the ingredient department! A first for me. You can read more details on Tula’s ingredients, here.
3 Step Balanced Skin Bundle
This gel cleanser claims to get deep into pores to remove dirt and debris without stripping the skin of moisture. It had lactic acid in it to exfoliate the skin for natural radiance. My thoughts: I use this cleanser with my Clarisonic and not only does my skin look clean after I use it, it feels so fresh. The smell of this stuff is amazing! It cleans out my pores with the help of my Clarisonic and while making my skin so soft and smooth.
Pro-Glycolic 10% PH Resurfacing Gel (if you read one thing read this paragraph!)
This toner is alcohol free (TY Tula) and uses glycol acid to exfoliate for more hydrated and even skin tone. My thoughts: My favorite product by far! I am not surprised it is always sold out. This toner does not strip your skin whatsoever. I use my finger to push the product into my skin and over the course of a month I have noticed my acne scars fade so incredibly much. I love that there is glycol in this product because glycol works to diminish acne scarring and reveals brighter fresher skin. I cannot tell you how much more confident I feel in my skin these days because of this product. You guys also know how much micro needling has helped me, so I think that because of this combination they are fading twice as fast.
Probiotic Hydrating Day & Night Cream
I dont know about you guys, but I appreciate a moisturizer I can use day and night. A simple routine is key for just about everyone! This moisturizer delivers an extreme amount of hydration. My thoughts: I love how luxurious and clean this moisturizer feels on my skin. It definitely hydrates and makes my skin feel so balanced. Aka it keeps my oil at bay for several hours! My only con? No spf! Ya girl needs spf.
Overall Thoughts: Is Tula Skincare Worth the Hype?
Without a doubt, YES! I honestly did not have high expectations of these products because every blog I’ve read talks about how great they are for dry skin, but literally no one has been commenting on if it works for oily and acne prone skin. I have super sensitive, awful skin, and this line has kept my oil at bay, my breakouts are minimal, and my acne scars have faded drastically. I love this brand for the attention to detail and their appreciation for making a skincare line free from harsh ingredients, that actually works! I can’t wait to try more products from their line and let you guys know how they are.
Also, just an FYI the 3 step system I purchased was about $85 and while that might seem high it lasts 3 months! Definitely worth it in my opinion.
