When you are a student, teacher, blogger, and person applying for jobs after graduation, sometimes it can be hard to find the motivation to actually “do the things”. You know that meme about how “I have so many things to do… let’s take a nap” Yep, that is SO me! My days can get so busy that I have to really use my time management skills and my planner to make sure I’m getting all of my work done on time, so today I’m sharing a few of my tips and tricks on how I stay motivated throughout my days.
1) Coffee + Snacks
You’ll almost always see me with a Starbucks vanilla latte in my hand. You might think that’s pathetic, but I care about my well-being and finishing graduate school a happy person, so I will have my special coffee that makes me feel better. Also, you can’t have your coffee without a snack to fight the pesky afternoon hunger. I recently have found a new favorite snack that I can get at my local Starbucks with my coffee and it’s the Creminelli Fine Meats™ Felino & Manchego Sliced Charcuterie Tray. Have you seen these in your local Starbucks? I love the Creminelli snack tray because it’s quick, easy, and protein packed so I won’t get hungry anymore throughout the day. It’s great for in-between your classes, commutes, and mid-day work pick me ups. You can even order it ahead of time through the Starbucks app, or you can pick one up in the cold section of several Starbucks locations! Learn more about Creminelli on their website, or their Facebook page!
I love listening to music during my work and school day. It keeps me motivated when I’m writing research papers and grading! Not to mention I feel like time just flys by when I’m listening to a good playlist. It keeps me from getting distracted by other things (social media), so I stay focused and get my work done quicker. If you are looking for some music recommendations I’ve been on a William Singe kick lately + my favorite Spotify playlist to do homework to is “Acoustic Covers”. So soothing!
3) Checklists are Your BFF
This might sound weird, but I love checklists for the sake of checking things off. I mean, makes sense though right? Don’t you feel accomplished when you are going down your list and marking things off? Just me? Cool. My advice to you is everyday make a list of what it is you need to get done. Organize that list by what is high to low priority. Get your high priority list items done first, then move on to low priority ones. I think you will be surprised at how much more motivated you are to finish your list just because checking something off of it feels SO good!
These are some of my best tips and tricks to stay motivated throughout your school and work day. Grab your Creminelli Snack Tray, headphones, and write up your to-do list, and you’ll quickly be on your way to feeling motivated and having a very productive day!
