Hey friends! I’m so excited to share my first Wedding related post with you all today! I had so much fun putting together my bridesmaid proposals. I wanted to do something really nice for them because I love them to death, and I know how much traveling and money they will be spending over the next year just to celebrate my soon-to-be wifey status.
I searched far and wide on Pinterest looking for ideas for my bridesmaids proposals. Everything seemed so basic or just not useful. Also, this is a good time for me to note that my love language is gift giving so I like to be a little ~extra~ in that department. Here’s a few tips and a breakdown of what I put in my bridesmaid proposals!
Tips for Your Bridesmaid Proposals:
- Seriously do not buy them a bunch of stuff that says bridesmaid allover it. I am not trying to be a hater here, but truth is, they won’t use it. No one wants to carry a water bottle to work that says bridesmaid on it. If you are just dying to get something that says bridesmaid on it, just limit it to one small thing.
2. Gift them something they can use on the wedding day. Chances are, your bridesmaids will have to take off of work for your various activities, buy new outfits, pay for your bach party, bridesmaid dress, etc. you see where I am going with this? Help them where you can! I included a necklace in my box for all of them to wear on the day of the wedding so jewelry is one less thing they have to worry about. Plus, these Kendra Scott necklaces are great for everyday wear so the will be wearing these long after the wedding. If you don’t want to do jewelry, you can also do something really nice like pay for their hair and makeup the day of the wedding. I plan on doing that as well.
3. Include some type of drink wear. I love the idea of including some kind of drink wear. Water bottles are great because they will probably use them quite a bit during your wedding festivities, and they make for great pictures of you all using them together! I chose wine glasses because I like to pretend I’m fancy, when in reality me and my girls will probably be drinking cheap Barefoot Moscato out of these on wedding day. Cheers!
4. Include a card. Obviously you have so somehow incorporate the proposal in your box. I chose the easy way out and bought hand calligraphied cards on Etsy. Pinterest has so many crazy ideas like a message in a bottle and boxes that shoot out confetti when you open them. I would never even think about attempting something like that because by the time I was done I would have my living room covered in confetti, I’d need to hit the confessional for a day of prayer to confess my sins for all the bad words I said, and Nathan calling off our engagement. I think I made the right decision.
My Bridesmaid Proposal Boxes:
Almost everything I purchased was from Etsy and is linked below!
Bridesmaid Proposal Card: I got these from Sarah Burns Designs on Etsy. If you are going for a very elegant and classic look, hers are amazing! I also got my maid of honor ask card from here. I plan on buying my bridesmaid thank you cards from here as well.
Wine Glass: I love how the names turned out on these wine glasses. They are from Bride2Be Designs on Etsy. I had one made for my maid of honor, bridesmaid, and mother of the bride and groom. They shipped so quickly this seller is so great to work with! One of mine arrived broken and she sent me a new one right away. She also has a ton of other really cute cup options on her site if wine glasses aren’t what you’re looking for.
Kendra Scott Necklace: I chose the blush pearl pendant because it matches the colors I’m going with for the wedding and will compliment their bridesmaid dresses beautifully! This is a bit of a pricey item for a bridesmaid proposal, but considering what they are doing for me, I really didn’t mind spending the money. There are a ton of other gorgeous necklaces on Nordstrom and Etsy that you could easily do instead! Earrings are another great cost effective option.
Champagne Dreams Gummy Bears: I wanted to throw in something fun, so when I spotted these in the checkout line at Target I bought the entire rack! Whoever came up with these is a genius. They are SO good! The ones I linked are from Amazon, but they might be cheaper at Target. I don’t remember how much I paid for them.
Not pictured: Jewelry Box: I asked my little sister to be my maid of honor, and I wanted to give her a little something extra in her box. I found this jewelry box on Etsy from XO Art and Design and knew it would be the perfect gift. She is starting to accumulate more jewelry so I wanted to give her something personalized + pretty to put here jewels in. She loved it! Shipping was also super quick which I always really appreciate, especially with handmade items.
I hope you guys enjoyed this post! I had so much fun putting these together, and my girls all loved them. I’ve already started shopping for bachelorette party gifts and wedding day gifts, so I can’t wait to share those later on!
