This Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is almost here! This sale is by far my favorite sale of the year and also is one of the most talked about sales every every year. Right before the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is the best time to assess your fall wardrobe and figure out what you’ll need this year because you’ll have the opportunity to purchase fall staple items on sale….right before fall! This is my third year shopping the sale, and I’m proud to say that I still wear and have several of the pieces I purchased 3 years ago.
I have so much fun shopping the sale + covering it on my blog. This year I don’t have much on my wish list so I am excited to just browse and pick up a few new fun pieces!

Tips for Making the Most of the Sale
While buying all of the cute $30 fall sweaters may sound like a good idea, and by all means are a great deal, but when they are full price at $50, you aren’t saving too much money. Here are my tips for shopping the sale so you can get the most bang for your buck!
1. Assess Your Fall Closet Ahead of Time
What do you need? Jeans? Cashmere sweater? A new scarf? Winter coat? Riding boots? Think about what you truly need first. Things like boots and coats are $100-$300 cheaper than normal price so you’re saving the most money by shopping the pricier items first. The discounts are just better!
2. Don’t Forget About Beauty, Your Husband, Home Items, Gifts
There’s more to this sale than just clothes and shoes! You can get some amazing deals on beauty products. I am eyeing that Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Kit pretty hard! Are there things you need for your home? You can find some amazing throw blankets and pillows in the sale. Birthdays coming up? You can find some great ideas for Christmas gifts too!
3. Set Your Budget
I prefer to set my budget after I see what I need. It’s hard to set a $100 budget for yourself first when you then realize you need new boots + a new coat. I realize sometimes we aren’t always able to do this, but if you can set aside the money now it will save your more money in the long run! I try to save little by little all year leading up to the sale so I can make sure I can get what I need for myself + my husband, and maybe a few Christmas presents too!
4. Now Set Aside Money for Fun Trendy Pieces
Of course there are going to be those sweaters and lip kits you buy on impulse because you just want them. That’s part of the fun! Not knowing everything they are going to have makes shopping a little bit more fun. I try to set aside a little bit of extra because I know there is usually a sweater or two I’ll see and think “That will look cute with the new scarf I just put in my cart!”
5. Use Your Double or Triple Point Day!
You can rack up points so fast if you use your double or triple point day during the sale! Rack up the points then cash them in later on items you missed out on. That way you still feel like you are getting a good deal!
6. Cash in Your Points
If you have points to cash in, use them during the sale! Doubling up on all the deals can end up saving you hundreds of dollars. It’s so worth it!
