Hey friends! I am super excited to be sharing my summer makeup routine today. My summer makeup routine has always been a struggle for me because oily skin + acne + sweat = disaster, so most of my life I have avoided makeup in the summer as much as possible. It was just easier! Finally, I feel like I am finding products that work for me in the heat and don’t make me break out every time my skin gets a little warm. I only wear makeup 2-3 times a week in the summer still though, because honestly its just more comfortable! However, when I do wear makeup, these are the products I’m using. Also, here is the amazing makeup bag I’ve been using! It’s one of my favorite Amazon finds, EVER.

Foundation
Once I am finished with my skincare routine, I start with my foundation. I love the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation because it gives me full coverage and doesn’t contain anything that is going to harm my skin. However, since it is summer time and this is a thicker foundation, I like to add a drop of the Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil Light to my foundation. It makes my foundation less thick + gives me a nice glow (without getting oily!) I usually apply thicker foundations like this with a beauty blender.
Conceal + Set
Next, I apply concealer to my under eyes and t-zone and set it with a powder. I have been using NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, which is one of my favorites because it’s very light on the skin, doesn’t crease, and looks natural! The only con is that a tube doesn’t last that long. To set my under eyes and t-zone I use the Hourglass Mineral Veil Powder I’m Translucent. It’s light + keeps my t-zone matte and blurs any imperfections you may have!
Bronze + Blush
I have been really into the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Radiant Bronze Glow for about a year and a half now. I haven’t even thought another bronzer in this time frame so it’s officially made it to holy grail status. It gives you the perfect bronze glow, I repeat, bronze, not orange!! Bronzers can look so orange sometimes but one just gives you the perfect luminous bronze glow. For blush, I’ve been using an oldie but a goodie, NARS Orgasm. You just can’t go wrong with a shimmery coral in the summer + it looks really natural with a good tan!
Eyes + Brows
I tend to always keep my eyeshadow natural, but in the summertime I love to play with a little shimmer! I’ve been using my Naked Basics 2 Palette with the shade Stark as my all over lid color + my transition shade. Then I’ll spray my MAC Fix+ on my brush and use any shimmery bronze color on my lid! Tip: getting your brush wet before applying a shimmer makes the color more pigmented + prevents fallout. For eyeliner, I use the Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner pencil in the shade Lucky. Then I’ll finish it off with my L’Oréal Lash Paradise mascara + fill in my brows with the NYX eye pencil in the shade Espresso.
Lips
I’m a pink lipstick kind of girl through and through! MAC Snob has been my favorite summer lipstick since I was 17. 9 years later, I still restock it for every summer! Since Snob isn’t quite appropriate for my day job, I usually go with with MAC Lovelorn. It’s a muted pink that’s bright enough for summer but natural enough to be appropriate for work!
I love this look because it’s natural, bright and light on my skin, but the shimmer + bright lipstick make it perfect for summer.
xo, Rach
